Guided dental implants in Kilsyth

Implants planned in 3D. Placed with pinpoint accuracy.

At Oak Tree Dental & Implant Clinic we use both guided and freehand surgery to place implants.

When using guided surgery, the entire process is mapped digitally before we touch a drill, so we know exactly where it goes before you're even in the chair. From one tooth to a full smile, guided surgery means we can usually use fixed provisional restorations, avoiding the need for dentures during healing periods.

      What “guided” actually means?

Your scan becomes the blueprint. We plan your implant position digitally first: angle, depth, spacing, and then have a bespoke surgical guide made to match. On the day, that guide allows us to place the implant exactly where the plan says it should go.

        Three reasons patients choose it:

        • Precision - implants land within fractions of a millimetre of the digital plan
        • Minimally invasive - for single implants we can often use a keyhole approach, with less swelling and a faster recovery
        • Fixed teeth while you heal - a guided plan lets us fit you with a fixed provisional crown or bridge, not a denture or a gap

          Your journey

From informal chat to your new smile

          1. Initial consultation - this is your introduction to implants, we look at what's missing, what's involved, and whether implants are right for you.
          2. Treatment planning appointment - we gather all the information that is needed to successfully plan your surgery. Photographs, intraoral scan, videos, full examination and a discussion about all your options.
          3. 3D scan & digital plan - a 3D (CBCT) scan (currently taken at a nearby practice) lets us work with the laboratory to map your implant position in 3D before surgery.
          4. Your guide is made - a bespoke high-quality surgical guide is custom-built to your plan.
          5. Guided placement - your implant(s) are placed using your bespoke guide, usually under local anaesthetic.
          6. Fixed teeth while you heal - a fitted provisional crown or bridge, not a gap or removable denture, worn for 3-6 months whilst your implant integrates.
          7. Your final restoration - crafted by our lab partner, Vivo Dental Lab, and fitted over two or three visits.

Missing one tooth, or missing them all?

            Guided single implants & bridges

Replace one tooth or a short gap with a guided implant crown or bridge - fixed, natural-looking, and built to last.

Every implant case starts with a consultation (£59), and then if you decide implants are the right choice for you, the next step is the treatment planning appointment (£141), where we confirm your fee in writing before anything else happens.

Currently the 3D scans are taken at a nearby practice (in Cumbernauld) and carry a fee payable to that practice of £150-200 depending on what is required.

Our guided placement surgical fees are all inclusive as detailed below.

            Treatment

            Guided fee

            3-tooth bridge on two implants

            £7,000

            Our fixed fee includes:

Removal of any teeth required under local anaesthetic. Placement of dental implants using bespoke surgical guides, with bone regeneration materials as required. Provision of a same day provisional fixed crown or bridge to wear during implant healing. Review appointments as required. Construction of final implant crown or bridge after 3-6 months healing.

A full arch, or your whole smile

Full arch options - and the materials that make the difference

The right number of implants depends on your bone and bite - more implants can mean more support, and more short and long-term predictability. The research shows that 4 is the minimum number required to support a full arch bridge.

Hybrid vs zirconia - what's the difference?

                Hybrid bridge

A titanium framework with a full arch of tooth-coloured acrylic material fixed on top. Lighter, and if a tooth ever chips, it's straightforward to repair.

                  Zirconia arch

A single block of solid zirconia, milled and finished by hand. More resistant to staining and wear, and the closest a fixed arch gets to the strength and translucency of natural enamel - a premium, long-term choice.

Both are designed and finished by Vivo Lab in London, so every arch is built to the same exacting standard whichever material you choose.

                        Guided surgery

                        Is guided surgery painful?

Most patients find guided implant surgery more comfortable than they expect. The minimally invasive approach can mean less swelling and a faster recovery than traditional freehand surgery.

                        Guided surgery

Will I be without teeth at any point?

No. Guided cases are usually fitted with a fixed temporary crown, bridge, or full arch to wear while your implants heal.

                        Guided surgery

What's the difference between hybrid and zirconia full arches?

Hybrid arches use a titanium frame with tooth-coloured acrylic material on top - lighter and easy to repair. Zirconia arches are milled from a single block of solid zirconia - more stain-resistant and closer to natural tooth strength. Both are made by Vivo Lab.

Is guided surgery available for every case?

Guided surgery suits the vast majority of implant cases, though straightforward single-tooth and three tooth bridge replacements can also be treated freehand. We'll recommend the right approach for your anatomy at consultation and make sure you know all the options.
